Sue's 50th Birthday

So who would have thought my third post in a week, go me...lol We are off to a 50th birthday party tonight and decided to do Sue a chocolate box with a matching card. The card was made using the left over card stock from the chocolate box. Not to exciting but it matches the box.
And this is my Dusty Attic chocolate box. I have used black bazzill cardstock and a Doodlebug patterned paper purchased at The Craft Stand in Malaga, I have coloured some of the leaves with a promarkers to add a little colour. Sue's fav colours are black, white and navy blue. Thank goodness because it made my job easy. The roses I have done myself using the Tim Holtz alterations die cut, and added some little pearls inside coloured with my promarkers so they matched. Rhinestones by Kaisercraft and the writing, although you can't see it, has been given a shimmer using my version of smooch spritz, and then covered with some Glossy Accents.
Filled it with some chocolates, and yep I ate the ones that wouldn't fit......tutt tutt.
Thanks so much for popping by and leaving your comments I love reading them. Have yourselves a fantastic weekend. I'm now going to keep crafting I still have one challenge to complete and I hope to have it done today.....or tomorrow.
Bye for now

another challenge

Hi Peeps, Well here I am again, This is another entry for a paper pack challenge. This one is for Tomorrows Memories in Bassendean. This pack was so much fun, I really loved doing this one, and I have decided that I'm going to frame it and give it to my Mum for her birthday. The photo is of my Mum with her Mum and Dad (she gave me the photo to put onto disc, so she has no idea that I have used it). I'm so so pleased at this bouque, it took a while to get it to sit the way I wanted it to but I eventually won.
The doyle was tea dyed, after my dog stole it from the kitchen bench and had a nice chew!!!!!!! The swirl was promarkered and smooched spritzed and then I added some glossy accents to give it a shiny look. The butterflies below were coloured the same way. The button was originally clear but didn't blend so I promarkered that as well.
Thanks again for stopping by, have a super duper day

It's been a while

Howdy peeps, Once again long time no blog for me, but have decided that I should sit and update my blog and have a little blog hop, while kiddies at school and hubby catching up on some sleep after coming off the night swing. This is the challenge pack over at The Craft Stand in Malaga. I have used my C.C. Design stamps with the theme of cupcakes, they all have a shimmer added to them using my Smooch Spritz and of course they all have been coloured with Promarkers. Flowers by Kaisercraft and all extra papers are from my stash, bout time I tried to use some up.
This is a swing card I made. I got the idea from a magazine. Unfortunately there were no measurements and it took me a while to work it out but I got there in the end and I think the finish card looks great.
Such a great pack I had so much fun using it.
OK so my update is done now a bog hop. Thanks for popping by see you all soon

Two Days in a Row.

I give you all a minute to get back up of the floor.....................lol. Can you believe it two post in a row!
The above photos are my entry into the Smudge and Sparkle Challenge. This month for $10 you purchase a challenge pack which contained a piece of patterned paper and a piece of plain green Bazzill, you also receive 2 doyles, one green one brown, a chipboard "clog with swirl" and a metal clip. One of the big rules is that you are NOT allowed to add anything including embellishment of any type. This is what I came up with. The photo is of Luke scuba diving in the ocean at Rockingham a few weekends ago. I have cut up my clog and swirl Promarkered and spritzed it and given it a shine with my Glossy Accents. I made the fish, with a bit of inspiration from utube and a very handy heart punch, from the patterned paper and added some kindy glitz and lastly pulled the doyle apart to make it the bottom of my sea.
This entry is for The Craft Stand. Again, it was a paper pack with a few flowers, paper, a heart shaped pin and some bling (mental note must take photo before I cut up pack) I have used a photo of myself, Paula (my friend) and Mum taken in Melbourne last year. I have added some extra bazzill, bling, Kaisercraft flowers and a couple of pins from my stash. I'm quite pleased how this turn out especially my flowers.
So that's it for now enjoy your day, the kids and I are playing Monopoly this afternoon the "old fashioned way" with the board and cash you can touch, wish me luck

WOW!

Happy Easter everyone.
Wow I can't believe it has been so long since my last post and so much has happened there have been sick kids, redecorating, hospital visits and a challenge win to make the month better, yep I won the Tomorrow's Memories challenge for last month (see post below), thanks so much ladies for choosing me I had so much fun spending my voucher. Over the weeks I have done some challenges for other local craft shops I just haven't had the chance to take a photo of them. I hope that chance will happen tomorrow because I'm having a jammie day. No clothes allowed only jammies!
The happy snap above is of me and the kiddies, made a late last minute decision to pop to the beach for ice cream today, as you can see a rather windy, rainy day but a nice day spent with the family.
This happy snap is of myself and Craige reading a book in his new room and of course Scout, our puppy couldn't resist getting onto the bed, shame hubby only got her "butt" in the frame.
One last thing before I get into my bed, a friend of mine has joined the blogging world and I would love it if you could pop over and say a big howdy, her name is Jo and you will find her at Jo's Crafting Corner, lets hope she is a good influence on me and get me to blog more.
Well that's me for the night I hope you all have a great Easter take care.
Until tomorrow

project #2

Well, that took a little longer then expected, silly laptops battery went flat! Not to worry back on charge now.
This is a project that I'm entering into the challenge for Tomorrows Memories which is a local craft shop down at Bassendean. You buy a paper pack and do a layout or card etc. You have to use a portion of the pack to qualify. It was so much fun. The pack included everything you see on my page, the only thing I added was the bling, by Kaisercraft and the photo which is of myself and my Nanna, which was taken on my wedding day, funny enough it was 17 years ago today. (Happy Anniversary Stu love you xxx)
I printed the photo out in the antique effect as this blended with the paper the best. Of course I did my roses again, I tell ya these are so much fun to do.
In the top right corner there are some little butterflies which have been Kindy Glitz unfortunately you just can't see them in the photo.
Wish me luck I would love to win. The prize is a voucher to spend in the shop and of course there is so many lovely things to chose from.
Is now 11.15pm in Perth and I'm off to bed thanks again for popping by.

A 40th B'Day Album

Hi everyone,
I know it has been a very long time since I have blogged but I have had a few projects on the go at once and I'm pleased to say that apart from one I have finished them YIPPEE!
This is the first. I would also like to enter this project into the fab challenge over at One stop craft challenge where you have to use bling. I think this qualifies cause there is a lot of bling used....hehehehe, love my bling!
It is a 40th album for a dear school friend who like me is 40 this year.
The album itself is by Kaisercraft as well as the "Airy Fairy" Series of decorative card stock, The "Lagoon" rhinestones and the Cherish sentiment.
I have filled the inside with AC Card stock, White, Grape and Pool, so Tracey (my school mate) can add her own photos.
The roses are done by me, I love these little flowers they are so much fun to do and look great even if I do say so myself...lol.
I have also completed two challenges for stores in my local area, which I'm about to post and I have also finished decorating the bathroom, only a few small touches to go and after spending last weekend painting and most of this week looking for bedspreads and curtains, Craige is spending his first night alone in his new room, my babies are getting so big, again only a few small touches and his room is complete.
So for now this is it, but I'm hoping to pop back in a sec with a few more posts just got to remember what I did with my camera...lol
Bye for now

My Chocky box for Mum

Howdy Peeps,
I hope you are all fine and dandy.
What a weekend, yesterday it was 4 years since my Dad passed away. We did have a nice day remembering Dad and all his" funny's". The kids and I went out to Pinnaroo (Dad's resting place) and had a great walk around the grounds and after checking out the Roos we went to the shops for lunch and a bit of a walk around.
Then it was back home to pack the boys a bag cause they had a sleepover birthday party. Leigh-Anne and I went to play bingo, unfortunately we aren't millionaires , maybe next time .....lol
Our spare room has finally had all the tradesmen visit and is now ready for a splash of paint, it has only taken them 9 months since the flood but no need to rush I guess.
Today we had a very quiet day as you could imagine the twins didn't get much sleep and have been very sleepy today so guess who got to finish a project. It's my Mum's Mothers Day present so sssshhhhhhh it's a secret. I'm also entering this is the challenge over at the Allsorts challenge where you have to have sentiments on your project. I'm not sure if all my sentiments qualify but thought I would give it a go anyways.
The chocolate box is by Dusty Attic and so are all the wonderful sentiments. The paper stock and flowers are all from my stash. The bling by Kaisercraft and the butterflies are made using my fav. EK Success punch and the paper was a pearlized envelope which I pulled apart. I have also used a Tim Holtz distress ink to give it a few highlights.
This was so much fun to do I may go and order another one just for me!
Thank you all so much for popping by, I have started another project for my friends 40th birthday which is fast approaching so I hope to post that in the next few days.
Take care

G'Day and a entry for a challenge

Hi Everyone,
I have finally got to the craft table and made a card. This one is for the challenge over at Passion for Promarkers where they want to "see it shine".
I have used a stamp by Sarah Kay. This gorgeous little stamp was given to me by my wonderful Cuz over in the U.K. Thanks so much Heidi, The Crafty Goat Girl I love it.
Of course I have coloured her with my Promarkers, the roses are from Prima, the white card is Bazzill the rest is from my never ending stash. To give her a little "shine" I have added some Chrystalina Kindy Glitz to the roses and the image.
Not long now and the school holidays will be finished. They have flown by with all the activities that we have done, they need to go back to school just so I can have a holiday....lol.
My boys are heading out in a minute and Poss and her friend are playing the wii so fingers crossed I may get another card done
Enjoy your day and thank so much for popping by

Good morning

Hi everyone, I hope you are all fine and dandy. Once again I'm starting to fall behind, but like everyone around Australia I have been glue to my T.V. watching for updates on the horrible, devastating floods in Queensland and now New South Wales. These people have lost EVERYTHING and if the uncontrollable water wasn't bad enough some people have started looting. I have to agree with one of the Mayors, they should be used as flood markers. There is no excuse for this behaviour, and should be punished severely. Lake Clifton, south of Perth, have had some horrific fires. People have lost their homes and all their belongings thanks to some heartless firebugs. They too should be punished severely, maybe a fitting punishment is to help the residents of Lake Clifton rebuild their lives and see first hand what they have done and they should do this day in and day out until they have paid for what they have done even if this takes them years. Please if you can donate money (the Queensland Government have a website set up and so does the City of Perth) or even a spare 5 minutes, pray for these people they have a long way to go. Sorry for all my moaning I do appreciate all the comments it just makes me very upset to see people in such bad times, I know the floods are an act of nature but the fires, they should never have been started. Thanks for stopping by I'm hoping my mojo will return soon so I can get to my table and make a few cards. Maree x

my first project of 2011

Hi everyone,
I decided to pop down to one of my fav craft shops yesterday, The Craft Stand and thought I would join in with their paper pack craft challenge. For just $10 you purchase a pack with a few bits and bobs in it and create a page (sometimes it's a card). There aren't many rules but you must use at least 80% of what is in the pack.
The co owner Paula had a great idea of doing a Christmas page so we could all use our Christmas photo's and this is what I came up with.
The papers, the chip board ornament, which I embossed, the silver ribbon and the glitter paper which I cuttlebugged snowflakes with, were in the pack. The rest was in my stash.
Between chatting on the phone, housework and looking after the kiddies this took me all day, it was a long project....lol.
Well that's the first project for the year for me. Thanks for popping by

I hope your feeling better soon Jo so you can get home from the hospital and craft your days away xxxxx
